"The authors sought to determine whether hydrocortisone infusion initiated, early in the course of severe community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), leads to improvement in oxygenation and a reduction in complications (multi-organ dysfunction and septic shock) as primary outcomes. Secondary outcomes were a reduction in the duration of mechanical ventilation, length of ICU stay, and increased survival to hospital discharge and at 60 days...."
